First INFLAMomx Workshop Held in Belgrade

From June 3–5, 2026, the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade, with the support of the Office for IT and eGovernment, hosted the first COST Action CA24166 – INFLAMomx workshop, titled “Text Mining for Inflammaging Research: Tools, Datasets, and Knowledge Hub.”

Over three intensive days, participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and hands-on sessions focused on identifying, collecting, and organizing scientific knowledge on multi-omics integration in inflammaging and non-communicable diseases. The program emphasized AI-driven approaches, including prompt engineering, AI-assisted literature mining, and the use of local large language models.

The event featured leading experts such as Robi Tacutu, Venkata Satagopam, and Vladimir Kovačević, who shared insights into current challenges and future research directions.

The workshop marked an important step toward building an international collaboration network and a shared knowledge hub for the INFLAMomx community.
