Empowered by Science: Women Driving Innovation

The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was celebrated at the Science and Technology Park Belgrade with the event “Empowered by Science: Women Driving Innovation”, organized by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia.

On this occasion, a panel discussion was held focusing on the position and role of women in science and the innovation ecosystem. The panel featured Jelena Bojović, Director of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Serbia, who spoke about the journey of women in science, the challenges they face, the motivation that drives them, and the economic impact of women in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the discussion, the importance of greater visibility for women in science, the value of mentorship and mutual support, as well as the need to create a supportive and inclusive environment for the development of scientific and technological ideas, were highlighted.

The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Marija Gnjatović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation. In addition to Bojović, the panel featured Dr. Tanja Lazarević, Director of the startup MyFlow, and Dr. Teodora Marković from BioLarva Tech.

The celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science once again confirmed the importance of continuous support for women in research, development, and innovation, as well as the significance of collaborative efforts to empower the next generation of women scientists and innovators.
