The public hearing regarding the amendment of the Law on Health Documentation and Records in the healthcare sector started within the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. During public hearing the representatives of the working group in authority for refining the regulatory framework and introducing electronic medical records unveiled the primary innovations introduced by the new legal resolution. They also elucidated the core objectives and rationale behind the proposed modifications.
One of the central aims is to meticulously restructure health documentation and records in alignment with the prioritized digitization strategy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, specifically emphasizing their maintenance in electronic format. Jelena Bojović, Director of the Centre and a pivotal member of the task force, expounded on the advantages that Serbia, its healthcare system, and its citizens will gain from the establishment of the Genetic and Biomedical Data Registry.
Subsequent public hearings are scheduled as follows: in Novi Sad on August 31 (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the Faculty of Medicine, in Niš on September 11 (from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.) at the Faculty of Medicine, and in Kragujevac on September 14 (from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.).
