On August 28-29, the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Serbia (C4IR Serbia) welcomed a delegation from the World Economic Forum to explore future collaboration opportunities and highlight Serbia’s emerging role in the global technological landscape.
The Forum delegation included Sebastian Buckup, Head of Network and Partnerships; Aytug Goksu, Head of Network and Government Affairs; Kateryna Bakulina, Government Engagement Lead; and Dietrich N. John, Community Lead. Their series of meetings focused on how Serbia can leverage emerging technologies and innovations to accelerate economic growth and sustainable development.
The delegation’s visit began with meetings at the Office for IT and eGovernment, together with the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Serbia and United Nations Development Programme Serbia (UNDP Serbia). These meetings were an opportunity to showcase Serbia’s strengths and potential in technology and governance.
Following this, the delegation met with key government officials, including representatives from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation. These discussions centred around the ways Serbia can enhance its innovation ecosystem and integrate more effectively into the global tech economy.
The visit concluded with a productive session with the President of the National Assembly, further cementing the importance of these discussions and the continued cooperation between Serbia and the Forum.
