On 24 August 2026, the Office for IT and eGovernment, together with the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Serbia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Belgrade Science and Technology Park. The partnership establishes a framework for connecting the public, research and business sectors, strengthening the innovation ecosystem and developing digital capacities, with a particular focus on the MedTech and HealthTech community in Serbia. Special attention will be given to the development, testing and implementation of artificial intelligence-based solutions, particularly in the fields of biotechnology and bioinformatics.
Since its establishment, the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Serbia has been working to advance the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology and digital health, by connecting institutions, the business community, academia and international partners. The cooperation with the Belgrade Science and Technology Park represents a natural continuation of this work and an important step towards further developing Serbia’s innovation ecosystem.
The Centre will make a particular contribution to strengthening and supporting the MedTech and HealthTech community, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and connecting local innovators with public sector institutions, industry and international partners. Through joint conferences, workshops, training programmes, hackathons and pilot programmes, the partners will support teams throughout all stages of development, from ideation and prototyping, through testing, to the implementation of solutions in real-world environments.
The cooperation will also be supported through the DAR Sandbox, an environment designed for experimentation, testing and validation of artificial intelligence-based products and services. The aim is to enable researchers, startups and companies to move more quickly from idea to market, with access to relevant infrastructure, knowledge and partners.
The MoU has been concluded for a period of three years.
